How to measure the stump:
Stumps are like icebergs with much more below the surface than above. When providing information on the size of stump being removed, you should measure at the base of the stump, and not the top of the trunk as shown in the illustration below.  


*Variables that impact cost include: Difficult Access (stairs, steep slopes, fences), Surrounding Landscape (rocky soil, next to a object, or delicate surroundings), Overall Height (flush cut or a tall stump), Depth of Removal required,  and amount of Surface Roots to be removed.
